Alternative Learning System 2015

posted Sep 5, 2015, 1:29 AM by Barangay Tortugas
Since 2008, a very important focus of our leadership is education. We are very happy, that the LGUs consistently support the Alternative Learning System program of the Department of Education which provides great opportunities for Out of School Youth (OSY) and school drop outs to complete their basic education in elementary and high school in just 10 months review class.

This year, over 28 youth already benefited from this program and the Barangay Council headed by Capt. Vic Baluyot Jr. vows to continuously promote it. Some actions had been in placed to enhance the program to produce a regular number of students for a complete module of study. The council maintains liaison with the Department of Education so that the government will see the need to support it.

We like to thank the dedication of Sir Michael C. Reyes, Mobile Teachers and the Instructional Managers and also Councilor Rogelio De Guzman in their tireless persistence in going around our village to personally promote and encourage kabarangays to avail of this educational opportunity designed to help them reach their dreams of a better future.
