Annual Bird Census Support

posted Oct 14, 2014, 6:22 AM by Barangay Tortugas
The last annual bird census was done here in the City of Balanga led by the Wild Bird Club of the Philippines and the DENR last January 16 2014. It aims to obtain the number of Migratory Birds that fly over our area during their seasonal movement in the Wetland and Nature Park in Barangay Tortugas. It is important that we preserve this as habitat for these birds.

Members of our Tanods and BPATs continue to extend their help in the census as guided by the rules and the experts in recording the counts and in listing the different species of birds.

It had been observed that there was a drop in the number of birds, which migrated here as the temperature last January proved to be cooler than what is suitable.

In whatever capacity, these Tanods and BPATs are always ready to cooperate and give their assistance to promote peace and order in the community.
