At present, different infrastructures are ongoing in our barangay. One of the major projects is the Wetland Park Information Center made of concrete and steel. Information regarding Brgy. Tortugas as a Coastal Area will be made available to the public. Should joint efforts by the residents of the Bryg and the other nearby communities continue in looking after its protection, and then a sustainable coastal management will be well in placed.

The site will also become the center of tourism in relation to eco-tourism. We’ll see the continued growth of mangrove and other trees that grow in the marshlands here as well as being an ideal environment for fish egg laying and fish fry growing.

Highly noticeable in this area is the increase in number of migratory birds’ sightings from the month of March to October of the year. Birds are attracted to this place probably because of the kind of climate, amount of mangrove and the vast supply of mudflats birds love to feast on. Various types of birds that can be seen may be identified by photos and descriptions posted in the Information Center. It will be like a museum where people from different sectors may want to visit and/or become a part of a school educational tour.

It can be a possible holding area for tourists from different cities, provinces and even for international tourists. At the time of writing, there are more than 2000 visitors who reached this park and viewed the birds since it was declared a Wetland Area, the first in The Philippines, of the City Government of Balanga led by Mayor Joet Garcia III with the help of Gov. Tet Garcia of the provincial Government of Bataan and Congressman Abet Garcia of the second district of Bataan and all other government agencies and the private sector.

Trying their very best in keeping this park well maintained are members of the  Barangay Council led by Brgy. Captain Vic Baluyot Jr. They are asking  for continued support of the community for this is an extraordinary blessing not just for Brgy Tortugas residents but for everyone to experience and enjoy!
