Barangay Week 2015 Opening Program

posted May 19, 2015, 1:40 AM by Barangay Tortugas
Welcome 2015!

Barangay Tortugas considers it a privilege to once again be the first to undertake the Learning Barangay Week Program in the City of Balanga, kick-starting our activities and program this year. We appreciate the City Government's generous support in providing the necessary barangay assistance.

We believe that this year's theme,   "Learning, Lead the Way" resounds what we envisage as a community. By being informed, by being educated, each resident helps better himself thus contribute to the advancement of our community.

Ms. Daisy Sulit, a teacher and a United Methodist Church worker, introduced the weeklong activities lined up for the opening program.  Pastor Allen Alvaro, Administrative Pastor of the United Methodist Church said the opening prayer.  He is well-known to the community as the voice in the early daily morning devotion being broadcasted across the barangay.
As always, the Banda Dos Nuestra Señora del Rosario's  rendition of the Lupang Hinirang, Balangueño Hymn and Hawakan  Mo Ang Bukas set the mood of the attendees, that of  love and interest in the affairs of the community.

The following were included in the undertaking of Learning Barangay Week Program:

1. Recognition of Barangay Mentors Society

2. Launching of Go4Health Barangay Version

3. School Uniform Distribution for Day Care Center Pupils

4.Presentation of Farming and Fishing equipment from City Agriculture Office and BFAR.
