Part of our Literacy Program is to provide help to Out of School Youth (OSY) in our barangay. We are looking at offering job skills training which are in demand here and abroad.

We are so pleased with the joint program of the Department of Education (DePED) thru Informal Education Supervisor, Mr. Ernesto Robles Jr. and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) led by Mr. Leonardo Dofredo, Trainor 1, Mr. Eduardo Granados, Trainor 2 and Lecturer and Mr. Noli Bautista, Training Assessor for spearheading this invaluable training.

Initially, we encountered problems in the procurement of supplies needed for our training but we were able to start on schedule as equipment such as welding machine, power tools, steel bars were loaned to us.

The training is faring well. We see the enthusiasm and perseverance in the first batch of trainees. This will continue over 300 hours up until the final evaluation and to pass the examination required to be able to get the NCI Certificate. We are very hopeful that this program will help pave the way to an improved life for our OSY.
