The City Risk Reduction Management Office of the City of Balanga is currently on it's full campaign to give optimum services  in responding  to disaster and or calamity thus  helping people in danger, suffering trauma, sickness and distress.

The second part of the Responders Training was held last 16 May 2011 in the Audiovisual room  of Tortugas Elementary School. This was attended by Barangay officials, Tanods, Health Workers, Kabalikat Purok Leaders, Day Care Workers and some members of the different sectors of Barangay. The dedicated RN John Rey Amado conducted this training.

Since unexpected emergencies can occur without warning, it is best that the knowledge and confidence to help another person in need, and possibly save a life is important. Different First aid-emergency care or treatment given to an ill or injured person before a regular aid  can be obtained-skills and procedures were discussed. Included in this training course were: how to give CPR -cardiopulmonary resuscitation -for victims of vehicular accident, of near drowning, of stabbing or had a fall. The proper usage of spine board, short board, bandages for fractured and wounded or bleeding victims was shown; as well as making a makeshift stretcher. While competency is truly required in giving first aid, participants are confident and are willing to give their time and knowledge when the need arises anytime from the word GO!

Again, we would like to thank Mayor Joet Garcia for seeing the importance this Disaster program and of course for funding it. To the CDRRMO headed by Eng. Mariano, to all trainers and staff for giving their time and effort every time we invite them- thank you and MORE POWER!
