Livelihood / Skills Training (Cooking Demo)

posted May 19, 2015, 2:06 AM by Barangay Tortugas
Our kabarangays have long been hoping for a Cooking Demo to be done in our barangay. The City Agriculture Office represented by Ms. Nerissa Mateo assisted by Ms. Gaudelia Calinao, led this fun filled cooking opportunity.  It was attended by our women residents from the different Purok.

Attendees were shown how to make okoy (fritters). Children will enjoy eating this nutritious yet cheap recipe. This healthy fritters will be good treats for underweight children. Some of the women who are after livelihood alternative or just after earning extra cash are looking at selling this new recipe as main dish or snack in our community and the nearby  barangays.

OKOY Ingredients:

1 kilo fresh kalabasa strips

1cup dried shrimp

2 medium Onion

1 1/2 cup bread crumb

1 1/2 c flour

1 table spoon magic sarap

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 long neck bottle cooking oil and 2 eggs

These are just a few results of our collaboration with the City Government. We aim to train residents of our barangay additional skills or know how and be productive members of our community.

Salamat po sa mga kawani ng aming pamahalaan na walang sawang tumutulong sa aming barangay. Mabuhay po kayo!
