Proyektong Pangkabuhayan (Livelihood Project)

posted Aug 18, 2014, 2:04 PM by Barangay Tortugas
Proyektong Pangkabuhayan was started in 2008. That while there’s government assistance, only a few participants were able to continue with their small-scale business.

This livelihood assistance is a program of the City Agriculture Office aimed to help marginalized residents who are keen to earn a living by starting a small-scale business. Some recipients were given goods and utensils needed while others were given financial assistance and start their own preferred means of livelihood such as selling freshly caught fish or selling other available and in demand goods in the Barangay.

Councilor Rene Sevilla monitors this program and is in charge of collecting the weekly repayment of the capital free of interest. And if the recipient continues to meet this repayment, he or she will be eligible to get an additional capital from the City Agriculture Office.

At present, the program is successfully administered and there are still some applicants waiting for this assistance.
