Symposium On VAWC, PSWD and OSY

posted Oct 14, 2014, 8:05 AM by Barangay Tortugas
The Barangay Council of Tortugas focused in this program of the City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWDO) on the worsening problem of Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC). Our aim is to find ways to prevent it, put a stop to it by giving voice to the victims who are too afraid or who are ignorant of their rights. The community awareness campaign against all sorts of abuse against women and children will help them speak out and be able to live freely and with dignity.

Same is true with Persons with Disabilities (PSWD) who are easy targets, who are more vulnerable. We want them to know that help is available to them and to bring perpetrators to justice.

Another group that we looked at was the Out of School Youth (OSY). Ideas were gathered on how to improve their skills and to be able to come up with suitable programs that will help them help themselves by being productive residents.

We like to thank Sir John Flores who patiently helps us in this matter. Mabuhay po kayo!
