The Management Information System Office of the City of Balanga conducted Web Development Course Training last March 15-16, 2011. Ms. Roneth Santos, it’s Department Head, together with some of her expert staff – showed how to create a website. This is part of the ICT Skills Training Program of our dear City Mayor Joet Garcia in his effort to equip the 25 barangays of the modern technology thus enabling to meet the vision of making Balanga a “World Class City.”

This was attended by each barangay IT personnel who will be in-charge of creating and updating their own website. By doing so, people anywhere around the globe could access it and view whatever is happening in our barangay. Another important feature is the availability of downloadable forms to anyone who would like to apply for jobs and for students to access information which could be useful for their research work in schools.

A being experienced by Barangay Tortugas, its website is a major help in promoting their Balanga City Wetland and Nature Park as part of their Tourism Campaign. With the aid of the internet, over 2,000 tourists have set foot in the Wetland Park. Presently, the Barangay Tortugas website updates and shares with the world to whatever is happening in their barangay.
